By targeting investments ranging between approximately $5 million and up to $50 million, Raven provides institutional investors with the unique ability to access the lower middle market through an established process dating back to the late 1990s and a highly-developed operational platform. Raven’s objective is to seek superior risk-adjusted returns and generate current income for its investors through a combination of asset-based direct lending and acquisitions of cash-flowing assets across five distinct industries in which it has a high degree of expertise.
- Intellectual Property/Receivables
- Specialty Finance
- Commercial Real Estate
it to meet the needs of its counterparties while remaining highly
selective in choosing its investments.
By providing solution capital to asset-rich, lower-middle-market companies often challenged by traditional lenders, Raven seeks to fill a void in the current private debt market. Due to its size and highly disciplined focus, Raven maintains a competitive advantage when investing in comparison to larger, more traditional credit-focused investment managers.
Raven is led by Josh Green, a former Merrill Lynch managing director who in 1998 pioneered an asset-based principal finance investment strategy that culminated in the establishment of Merrill Lynch’s Alternative Assets Group. In 2008, Mr. Green left Merrill to establish Raven, which now has a national footprint with offices in New York
and Los Angeles.
